Does Funny Equal Money? Sometimes, Humor Doesn’t Help

“Pardon Our Mess, We’re Remodeling!”

“The Boss Is Away Sale”

Knock-knock. KNOCK-KNOCK. You say…

Did it really work for everyone else? “Everyone uses that joke” does not mean “everyone likes that joke.”

I can imagine the confessions in humor court:

“I was sure THEY would think it’s funny. No, I don’t think it’s funny, but…”

Questions before you commit a crime against humor:

1. Is it the right audience?

2. Is it the right time or occasion?

3. Does it make me laugh?

When accused of a comedy crime, you’ll have a three-layered defense.
