I’m grooving on Growing Up Fisher Tuesdays on NBC.
The story of an unstoppable blind dad isn’t the typical comedy theme.
Of course, this allows for a charming guide dog and even-more-charming son.
Narrator Jason Bateman makes it work. The unseen voice, the supposed grown-up boy looking back, makes every word count.
Creator D.J. Nash is a brave one. Distracted Americans half-watch network shows today.
He’s counting on us to LISTEN, too.
I don’t have high hopes for Growing Up Fisher getting a renewal. That’s why I wanted to register my applause now, hoping a few of you can savor the show’s intros and conclusions, rare and leisurely spoken moments we all need.
