Thanks, Avi! Acclaimed author shares rejection letter highlights (or lowlights?)

AviBook“Sigh. If I was a famous author, I’d never have to worry about editors rejecting me.”

Everyone. Raise your hands if you’ve muttered this, or something close, recently.

Wow. That many?

I just uncovered a recent blog post from Avi, with proof to pop that balloon of assumption. The author created a mash-up of key ironic phrases from HIS past rejection letters. The irony comes in knowing Avi got the last laugh, again and again.

Don’t know Avi yet? It’s not too late. He’s an author who walks literary high wires without a net. One of my favorite Avi books is “Who Was That Masked Man, Anyway?” Historical fiction, entirely in dialogue, paying tribute to 1940s radio shows. And funny!
