Iowa State Cyclones slogan fumbles

CycloneYardSignsCentral Iowa lawns are covered in cardinal and gold.

Booster signs for Iowa State University abound. The backs contain the motto FOREVER ONE.

Three cheers for one brave fan on Facebook who asked, “Huh?” (Precisely, “What does it mean?”)

This was the posted response from ISU Athletics:

“It is part of our football campaign and our ONE theme that we have been using.”

Other fans explained that O-N-E is part of the word “Cyclone.”

Who are the out-of-state “Mad Men” who got paid for this enigma?

Copywriters. Authors. Creators. Take note:

It’s not enough to make something. If you can’t explain your creation, your job’s not done.
